Class Sessions

Topics

Introduction to Live Visuals includes a broad overview of the history, theory, and practice of live visuals as an artform.

The 6 main topics for this course are:

  • What are Live Visuals?: An initial look into the tools used for this class and their historical context.
  • Montage: How the traditional film technique of 'montage' applies to live visuals.
  • Motion Design: How can we convey a theme, setting, and mood using simple shapes and animation?
  • Visual Music: What do sounds and rhythms look like?
  • Aesthetic Design: An overview of various visual styles and the creation of mood boards.
  • Show and Event Production: Getting ready for live performances.

Lessons

This is a 15 session course covering 6 different main topics.
